About
For nearly three decades, Bedford Ladies Tug of War Club has been one of the most successful tug of
war teams in the UK. The club, which was established in 1988, has won many national English
Championship titles, which has subsequently qualified them to represent England multiple times at
international championships around the world including UK, European and World Championships.
Most recently, the club took bronze at the 2019 European Championships in Ireland, and silver in the
2021 World Championships in Spain. The team also finished 4 th at both the 2022 World
Championships in Holland, and the 2023 World Championships in Switzerland.
In 2022, Bedford represented Great Britain at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, finishing
just outside the medals in 4th place in the ladies event but won gold in the Mixed (4 ladies + 4 men) event!
